My love for poster art started when I was in school, my favourite part of art class was designing layouts and hand-painting posters, and lino-printing. My fascination started a few years ago with a documentary called HYPE! The movie is about the seattle grunge scene in the 90’s, and features one of my favourite designers, Art Chantry.

I got his book Some People Can’t Surf for christmas last year, and if you’re interested in his work I’d highly recommend buying it.

After that I started surfing the net for more, I came across many sites but my absolute favourite resource for great poster design is OMG Posters. Go there now! I can wait…

This project for Ny Norsk Arkitekturpolitikk conference is really beautiful.

We worked on the idea that architecture is about material and how people involve themselves in the environment around and in context to the buildings. Material produced included different paperstocks and we tried to find ways to make information available on more than one level. The goal was to inspire the viewer and make s/he think about why the different materials were used. As using one side can also have impact on how the opposite will end up, and the perception of how architecture affects our vision in relation to the tactile experience.

Wow, this stationary is gorgeous! Designed by Holmes Wood, I found it on the Generation Press website.

This set of stationery is astonishing! First look at the artwork and it appears like a really nice minimal B&W set of stationery, but with the brilliant choice of materials and foil blocking it takes this stationery into a higher state of consciousness! Colorplan Ebony and Pristine White duplexed for the business cards and the compliments cards, one colour litho print on both sides of Colorplan for the letterheads.

The white foil blocking on the reverse just has a magical look and feel, the contrast of the shinny white foil against the deep black toothy-ness of Colorplan Ebony just gets the mind racing! the font on the front is foil blocked in metallic black.
