Rob Sayer of On Stage Lighting contacted me to design a logo and header image for his new site www.onstagelighting.co.uk.

When asked to describe his site he said the following:

The site is a centre for learning modern stage lighting techiniques from the professionals. At the moment, this is limited to blog style articles but will be expanded to video tutorials, offline literature and maybe even training courses.

After some discussion, he decided that he wanted a modern and “webby” style logo, with a glossy/reflective effect. I did some sketches and then made some concepts for him to consider:

After looking through concepts 1 – 8, Rob decided he liked Number 3 the best. We went over a few different styles for the logo and the final design was chosen because it could easily be used as an avatar, and the client liked the fact that it looked like a button.
